WHAT TO DO WHEN THE SURGERY IS CLOSED
If you need urgent medical care at a time when the surgery is closed there are a number of options available to you.
You can call the usual daytime telephone number 0844 815 1097 or 0844 815 1098 and your call will be re-directed to the
Out-of-Hours Service. Your medical needs will be assessed by a triage nurse and you will either be given advice or arrangements will be made for you to be seen by a health care professional.
Please only use this service for problems which can not wait until the surgery is next open.
You can visit the NHS Walk-in Centre in Stapleford on Church Street (opposite the library). This is a nurse-led drop in service offering health advice, information and treatment of minor ailments by experienced nurses and advisors.
It is open from 7am to 7pm every day of the year.
You can visit the family walk-in centre at Ilkeston Community Hospital where
GPs are on duty until 8pm seven days a week.
You can visit your Local Pharmacy who can also offer advice and treatment if required, for a range of minor ailments.
You can contact NHS Direct, who provide a 24-hour advice and health information service by telephone on
0845 4647 or on-line
www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
